Kennedy Masiye is a former Zimbabwe Lawyers for human Rights projects lawyer with progressive experience in domestic and international litigation, research, media and political analysis, lobby and advocacy. He holds a master’s in international human rights law from the University of Notre Dame(USA) and has won three human rights awards in Zimbabwe for his outstanding work. In 2015, he was one of the 500 emerging young African leaders selected out of a pool of 50,000 applicants (1% admission rate) in Africa to participate in the Mandela Washington Fellowship in the United States where he undertook intensive civic leadership programs at Rutgers University. In 2017 he was the only Zimbabwean seconded by the European Delegation to Zimbabwe to visit the European Union as a guest of the European Parliament and the European Commission within the framework of the European Union Visitors Programme (EUVP). He is currently doing his human rights fellowship with the American Bar Association’s Center for Human Rights where Assist in developing policy, projects, and educational initiatives to advance human rights in Africa.
