Gender and Media Connect (GMC) works towards the improvement of women’s participation in the media. As the FAMWZ, subsequently GMC, we raised an alarm on the need for gender awareness within newsrooms. We offer training (coaching clinics) mentoring, exposure, and other related capacity building initiatives to address identified skills gaps targeting women in the media. GMC has produced a resource book on sexual harassment in the media and it is widely used as reference on the subject and a directory highlighting women news sources in various sectors of business. We are acknowledged as the focal point on gender and media in Zimbabwe.
